William Romney Burke, MD, Urologist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medicine.
In Dr. Burke’s family, a career in medicine is tradition. He went on to attend Stanford University, graduating in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts. Later, in 1970, he earned an MD from Yale University. In the years following his graduation, he was certified by the American Board of Urology. After completing his required internship and residencies at the University of Tennessee Medical Center and Yale-New Haven Hospital, Dr. Burke was hired as a urologist at the Denver Clinic. During this time, he additionally explored medical education, acting as an instructor of surgery at Yale Medical School. As his career progressed, Dr. Burke took on positions at the Clackamas Urological Clinic, The Urology Clinic, and a private practice in Oregon City. He has additionally taught at several esteemed institutions, including the University of Colorado Medical Center. Most recently, he acted as the area medical advisor for LDS Church in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Outside of his primary medical endeavors, Dr. Burke has shared his knowledge by contributing to numerous articles in professional journals. Prior to commencing his career as a doctor, Dr. Burke served as a captain for the United States Army Reserves from 1970 until 1976. Recently, he began to pursue a newfound interest as an associate professor of English at the Ocean University of China. For his work in that role, he earned the Outstanding Foreign Teacher award in 2012. As a testament to his myriad career accomplishments, Dr. Burke is featured in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and Who’s Who in the World.
