Peter P. Ventre, MD, Chief Executive Officer at Ventre Medical Associates, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychiatry.
From watching his father excel as a small town orthopedic doctor in Puerto Rico, Dr. Ventre became inspired to also pursue a career in medicine. He received a BA in general science from the University of Puerto Rico in 1996, an MS in medical studies from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico in 1998, and an MD from Ibero-American University in the Dominican Republic in 2001. Dr. Ventre went on to complete two residencies at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Hospital in psychiatry and internal medicine in 2008 and 2010, respectively, as well as a fellowship at the University of Florida in 2008. During an incident at his fellowship, Dr. Ventre translated for a patient suffering from mania and he immediately became fascinated by how someone could have an alternate view on reality, hence directing him to a focus in psychiatry and neurology.
Backed by more than 10 years of professional experience, Dr. Ventre is well known for his research in ADHD, Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, depression, general medicine, sleep, substance abuse, and vaccine. He commenced the earlier years of his career with Compass Health Systems, Sleep Disorder Solutions Inc., and Behavioral Clinical Research, Inc. Today, Dr. Ventre serves in numerous positions, and since 2010 he has served as chief executive officer of Ventre Medical Associates. Since 2011 he has taken on the roles of vice chief of psychiatry at University Pavilion Hospital, president of psychiatry at Ventre Medical Associates, and founder of Research Centers of America. Additionally, Dr. Ventre has been the chief of psychiatry at Broward Health Medical Center since 2014, CMO of DetoxMD National since 2017, principal investigator and president of Research Centers of America since 2018 and chief medical officer of DreamLife Recovery Treatment Center since 2019.
Notably, Dr. Ventre has been named Most Compassionate Doctor by Vitals Consumer Services, LLC. He attributes his success to hard work, and the examples set forth for him by his parents. Looking ahead, Dr. Ventre plans to expand his current company, research, private practice, and treatment center. For his treatment center, he would like to reach a 50 percent remission rate as opposed to the current rate of 16-20 percent of people who remain sober for more than six months. Additionally, he would like to discover a new form of medicine to treat schizophrenia, one that will allow patients to have a better quality of life.
Today, Dr. Ventre holds membership with the American Medical Association, American Clinical Research And Psychopharmacology, American Psychiatric Association, Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative, Broward Health Medical Center, Broward Health Imperial Point, Broward Health North, Good Hope Manor, Holy Cross Hospital, John’s Place, Memorial Regional Hospital, Meridan Treatment Solutions, Millennium Clinic, New River Villas, Recovery First, Seminole Tribe, Serenity House Detox, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Windsor Place, Willow Bay, and various correctional facilities.
