Wright A. Jones MD, FACS, Owner and Founder at Muse Plastic Surgery, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in plastic surgery.
Dr. Jones became involved in his profession because at the age of nine he had a cousin who suffered severe burns to her face and arms and was taken care of by plastic surgeons. That initially piqued his interest and overtime he learned more about plastic surgery. The more he learned the more he became interested in the field and the more training he received, the more he learned and loved it. While in school, Dr. Jones was speaking with one of his professors about his cousin. The professor asked him what year, he told him, and the professor told Dr. Jones that they were the ones who took care of her. He ended up taking the training program at Emory University where his cousin was taken care of. He always enjoyed the artistic aspect of surgery along with the medical aspect of surgery. Dr. Jones earned an undergraduate degree in biology and a Doctor of Medicine from Fort Valley State University. Upon completion of his degrees, Dr. Jones became a resident in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Emory University School of Medicine from 2010 to 2013.
Dr. Jones’ most notable achievement was with each patient, it was not about one thing. For him it was about the everyday patient and seeing the look in their eyes at post-op. He was most proud of starting his nonprofit organization called Surgeons Touch. They give free reconstructive surgery to children in need. The twist was in return they would have to do a community service project. Dr. Jones is currently the founder and owner of Muse Plastic Surgery. Previously, he was a chief resident in general surgery at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. In the future, he wants to do more work in philanthropy as well as with his nonprofit, Surgeons Touch. It was not about the money but about changing lives. His ultimate goal is to be doing non-profit plastic surgery full-time. He would like to have a larger platform for educating the public on plastic surgery showing them the benefits as well as the risks.
As a testament to his success, Dr. Jones has received a Compassionate Physician Award from Vitals, the Patients Choice Award in 2018, a Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award, Most Outstanding Resident Award and five Research Awards. He has been named to America’s Top Doctors, Top 10 Doctors in Atlanta, Best of Atlanta in Plastic Surgery by The Jezebel Magazine and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society at the University of Nevada. Dr. Jones was inducted to be a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Alpha Phi Alpha.
