Company: Paladina Health
Location: Puyallup, Washington, United States
Kelly DeMeyere-Coursey, Medical Director Northwest and MD of Family Medicine at Paladina Health, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
After earning an MD from the Creighton University School of Medicine, Dr. DeMeyere-Coursey was unsure of the field in which she would specialize. It was not until her residency at Washington Family Medicine that she decided to pursue the field of family medicine. She enjoyed educating and empowering her patients, as well as advocating for them. In the following years, Dr. DeMeyere-Coursey was certified in family practice alongside becoming a registered radiologic technologist and microbiology lab aide. Since 2017, she has been the medical director at Paladina Health in Washington.
Dr. DeMeyere-Coursey was drawn to family medicine because of the relationship she gets to have with her patients. At Paladina Health, she practices a different kind of care, titled Direct Primary Care, which emphasizes the patient-physician relationship and ensures that the level of care is prioritized over the amount of money being made. She thoroughly enjoys her ability to work with and counsel her patients on finding strategies to begin and maintain a healthy lifestyle, which is not an opportunity that many others in the physician community have. In 2017, her efforts were recognized when Paladina Health presented her with the Passion Core Value Award.
A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. DeMeyere-Coursey looks forward to continuing to work with her patients and spreading awareness about Direct Primary Care. She wants to allow other physicians to not only improve the health of their patients but also their way of life. Outside of her primary role, Dr. DeMeyere-Coursey volunteers at her neighborhood clinic in Tacoma, Washington.
