A first-generation Mexican American, Dr. Mora is the oldest of five children and always dreamt of becoming a doctor. She recalls her childhood dream was to save the world. Dr. Mora saw the need for Spanish-speaking doctors and wanted to bridge the gap. Since 2014, she has served as a medical doctor, physician, and chief executive officer of the Chicago Allergy Center, also participating in advocacy in her spare time.
Prior to the start of her career, Dr. Mora pursued a formal education at the University of Chicago, earning a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and an MD in 2003. She then joined the Rush University Medical Center as a resident in pediatrics and internal medicine in 2007 and a fellow in allergy and immunology in 2009. Active in her local community, Dr. Mora is a board member of the Catholic Charities of Chicago, as well as a national volunteer spokesperson for the American Lung Association since 2018. Maintaining involvement with the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology and the American Lung Association, she is the recipient of numerous accolades and honors. In 2017, she was named the NAPW VIP Woman of the Year and was recognized for Excellence in Diagnostics (RED Award) by the Vasculitis Foundation.
