Pedro R. Moreno, Professor and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Mount Sinai Saint Luke’s, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cardiology.

Holding a Doctor of Medicine in internal medicine from Pontifical Xavierian University, Dr. Moreno has accrued more than a decade of practiced experience at Mount Sinai Saint Luke’s as a professor of cardiology medicine and the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Prior to his present position, he completed training at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He has also obtained a certification in cardiovascular disease medicine and a certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine. Beyond his primary endeavors, Dr. Moreno has maintained his association with the New York Philharmonic since 1997 and dedicates his spare time to working with the underserved population of New York City.

As a result of his extraordinary efforts in medical education, Dr. Moreno was presented with a Double Starr Award from the New York State Department of Health and a fellowship from the American College of Cardiology. Cited among the Top Doctors in the New York Metropolitan Area in 2014, he has proudly garnered a 99% success rate in heart surgeries. Attributing his success to his hard work and his dedication toward discovering the root of health problems, he was greatly influenced by his mentor, Valentin Fustera, as well as his own family, many of whom are physicians themselves and instructed him on the study of physiology. Noted as a pioneer in the understanding of inflammation and acute coronary syndromes, Dr. Moreno hopes to continue finding success in medical education while exploring his potential contributions to large-scale health organizations in the years to come.
