Stephen Harner, MD, Former Otolaryngologist for the Mayo Clinic, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in otolaryngology.
With nearly 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Harner was a staff otolaryngologist with the Mayo Clinic from 1973 to 2003. Prior to obtaining this role, he served with the United States Army from 1964 to 1973, attaining the rank of major. During his military service, he was assistant chief of otolaryngology with Letterman Army Hospital from 1970 to 1973. He held residencies in otolaryngology with Fitzsimons Army Hospital from 1968 to 1970 and in surgery with Reynolds Army Hospital from 1966 to 1967. Earlier in his career, he was an intern with Brooke Army Hospital from 1965 to 1966.
Dr. Harner first pursued an education with Washington University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1962. He continued his studies with the University of Missouri, earning a Doctor of Medicine in 1965. Certified by the Board of Otolaryngology, he has been named a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American Otologic Rhinologic and Laryngological Society, and the American Otologic Society. Furthermore, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the Minnesota Medical Association, the Zumbro Valley Medical Association, the Society of University Otolaryngologists, the American Neurotology Society, and the Acoustic Neuroma Association.
