Dr. Jennifer Sutton, Partner and President of Gulf Coast Veterinary Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Veterinary Medicine.

With more than 15 years of professional experience, Dr. Sutton has excelled as a partner and the president of Gulf Coast Veterinary Services since 2002. In addition to her primary role, she has found success as a partner and a veterinarian at Beach View Veterinary Hospital, LLC, since 2015 as well as the interim executive director of the Hancock County Court Appointed Special Advocate Program in 2013. Since 2020, she has served as a managing partner for Paws to Remember Pet Loss Services, LLC in conjunction with being certified with the International Association of Pet Cemeteries & Crematoriums. Furthermore, Dr. Sutton has lectured extensively in her areas of expertise on a variety of topics, including dog and cat olfactory capabilities, emergency medical and care of animals in disasters, canine first aid for search and rescue dog handlers, environmental awareness for children, and search and rescue dog versatility.

Dr. Sutton initially pursued an education with Millsap College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1992. She continued her studies at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She later concluded her academic efforts with the aforementioned school, graduating with a Master of Business Administration in 2019. She is licensed to practice in the states of Mississippi and Louisiana, and she holds a national accreditation from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal Health and Inspection Service. Likewise, Dr. Sutton is certified in teaching in the healthcare profession by Louisiana State University, as a professional coach by the International Coach Federation, as a veterinary practice manager by the Veterinary Hospital Manager’s Association, as an emergency healthcare professional and as an emergency disaster professional.

A respected voice in her areas of interest, Dr. Sutton has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. She is a member of the American Veterinarian Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association. She has also been active with the South Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association, the Association of Feline Practitioners, the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, the Veterinary Management Group, and the Veterinary Hospital Manager Association. Moreover, Dr. Sutton is a member of the Veterinary Information Network, the American Animal Hospital Association Publishing Advisory Workgroup, and the Loyola Women’s Leadership Academy.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sutton has been recognized for her contributions. The recipient of the NSLS State of Mind Award, she was also presented with the Director’s Coin of Excellence by the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, the Top Influencer Award by the Success Women’s Conference and the Once Coast Community Leader Award. She was celebrated among the 100 Successful Women to Know twice by Gulf Coast Woman’s Magazine Success Showcase and with the Karen Sock Woman of Achievement Award by Lighthouse Business and Professional Women, for whom she was also noted as a Business and Professional Woman of Achievement Finalist. Dr. Sutton additionally accepted the Open Doors Homeless Coalition Visionary Award and the Forever Young Mentor Award by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Young Professionals, and she was honored as a Caring Woman finalist in the Biloxi Regional Medical Center. In 2020, she earned a People’s Choice Award from Gulf Coast Woman Magazine and in 2021, she was the recipient of the Mississippi Business Journal Top 50 Business Women in Mississippi Recipient and the Power Up Summit Entrepreneur of the Year.
