Dr. Lozano was always impressed by doctors and the way they were treated in his community. Everyone admired them, including Dr. Lozano, which is why he chose to pursue medicine. Prior to coming to the United States, he earned an MD from the University of El Salvador. There, he completed several residencies in internal medicine at Rosales Hospital in San Salvador. Later, in 1968, Dr. Lozano came to the United States and began a new residency at Baylor University Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas. He enjoyed nephrology, so he requested more time in that unit than what other residents would complete. Dr. Lozano was a perfect fit for the field and went on to complete a fellowship there before fully entering the profession
In 1976, Dr. Lozano was brought onto the staff of internal medicine at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. There, he gained the necessary experience to advance in his field. In 1977, he accepted a position as the medical director of the Golden Triangle Dialysis Center. However, he soon found himself extending his skills to BMA Jasper as well. Until 1997, he worked as the medical director for both facilities. In 2001, Dr. Lozano relocated entirely to the Kidney Center in Jasper, Texas. He remains there today, continuing to excel in his role as medical director.
A respected voice in his field, Dr. Lozano shares his experiences through contributing articles to various professional publications. He has additionally been listed among the best doctors by Consumer Reports, which was a rewarding experience. He remains active alongside his peers with memberships to numerous professional societies, such as the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Nephrology, and the American Medical Association. As a further testament to his success, Dr. Lozano is featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and Who’s Who in the World.
