Bernard Gauthier, Chief of Nephrology Emeritus at Schneider Children’s Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nephrology.

With more than 35 years of professional experience, Mr. Gauthier has been recognized as chief emeritus of Schneider Children’s Hospital since 2004, having been nephrology chief since 2000, a pediatric nephrologist since 1995, and chief of pediatric nephrology since 1975. In addition to his primary roles, he held a number of positions with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, including professor from 1995 to 2004, associate professor from 1990 to 1995, and assistant professor from 1989 to 1990. He was previously an assistant professor with Stony Brook University from 1975 to 1989.

From 1973 to 1975, Mr. Gauthier was an assistant professor and chief of pediatric nephrology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, having been a nephrologist with the organization since 1972 and a fellow from 1970 to 1972. He served as a staff pediatrician with Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital from 1968 to 1970, where he held a residency from 1965 to 1968. He held an internship of pediatric with the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in 1964 and with Bankstown District Hospital from 1962 to 1963. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with the University of Sydney.
