Victor Shpilberg, Director, Principal Investigator and Physician at Norton Community Medical Associates, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
With nearly 30 years of professional experience, Dr. Shpilberg has found success as a physician and medical administrator. In 1983, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in art history from the University of Louisville and continued his studies at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. After earning an MD from the institution in 1988, he completed an internship in internal medicine at the Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Center. In 1990, Dr. Shpilberg completed his residency in internal medicine at the hospital and subsequently started as a managing partner at Pleasure Ridge Primary Care, where he worked for more than 15 years.
After two years of service at Pleasure Ridge Primary Care, Dr. Shpilberg accepted the post of the clinical director of laboratory services, which he held for the remainder of his tenure. Upon his departure in 2008, he worked as a managing partner of Dixie Primary Care until 2010, transitioning to his role as a physician for Norton Community Medical Associates, which he holds to this day. Currently, Dr. Shpilberg also serves as the director and principal investigator of diabetes research at the Norton Community Medical Associates, a position he has held since 2019. In addition to his primary pursuits, he has found success in his creative endeavors, serving as a lecturer and guest speaker for numerous organizations, including the Norton Hospitals CME Programs in 2014 and the PRIME MD Lecture Series in 1998, among others.
Dr. Shpilberg became involved in his profession because of his love for communicating with others. A self-described “people person” with a passion for medicine, he found that being a physician was a great fit for him. In addition, he was inspired by his father, who was also a physician and was greatly satisfied in his career. For his excellence in medicine, Dr. Shpilberg has been recognized with multiple Most Compassionate Physician Awards from Healthgrades, as well as numerous Physician Recognition Awards from The American Medical Association. He also maintains affiliation with many organizations related to his field, including the American Association of Family Practitioners, the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine, The American Medical Association, the Kentucky Medical Association and the American Society of Contemporary Medicine and Surgery, among others. Dr. Shpilberg works on diabetes research because it is very prevalent in his community, and he is motivated by the gratitude he receives from patients and their families.
