Caroline Flint, Physician Advisor at Ochsner Medical Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in utilization management, compliance issues, and documentation.
Dr. Flint began her career as a physician, but due to an eye problem that began to impact her work, she began to find new ways to continue to stay in the field. Due to the development of her eye problem later in her career, she had to retrain in different areas. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, she received a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry in 1975. She concluded her academic efforts with a Doctor of Medicine from Dartmouth University in New Hampshire in 1982.
Between 1982 and 1985, she completed a residency with Ochsner Health Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana before accepting the position of a primary care physician with the aforementioned institution from 1986 to 2000. Consequently, Dr. Flint worked with a private practice for three years, later returning to the Ochsner Medical Center as a physician adviser of utilization management. In addition to her primary endeavor, she contributes as a staff physician of the Ochsner Clinic Foundation. Since 2018, Dr. Flint has worked in an administrative role involving case management and documentation.
Civically, Dr. Flint has been involved with several local organizations. A past volunteer of the Habitat Program, she also served as the former troop leader of the Girl Scouts of America and a board member of the Mid-City Dance Project. She attributes her success to her upbringing and her desire to always try and do her best. Additionally, she prides herself on the idea of reinventing oneself through retraining. In the coming years, Dr. Flint hopes to retire from her vocation.
