Michael Hoffman, MD, Doctor at Bay Rheumatology, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in rheumatology.
With 50 years of professional experience, Dr. Hoffman has been with Bay Rheumatology since 1970. Prior to obtaining his current position, he held a fellowship with the Hospital for Special Surgery from 1969 to 1970. In addition to his primary roles, he served as an associate professor with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and he is the former acting director of rheumatology for Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Hoffman first pursued an education with Brooklyn College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science. He continued his studies with the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine, earning a Doctor of Medicine in 1965. A member of the American College of Rheumatology and Alpha Omega Alpha, he has been certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. For his contributions to the field, he was an eight-time winner of the Doctor Recognition, a nine-time winner of the Patients’ Choice Award, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine gave him various teaching awards and outstanding physician awards. Dr. Hoffman went into rheumatology because it is the only specialty that encompasses all of internal medicine.
