Albert John Camma, MD, FACS, FAANS, MBA, Neurosurgeon, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in neurological surgery.
Dr. Camma attended medical school at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. During his time there, he had desires of becoming a research scientist and he became enthralled with the central nervous system because of its complexity. His interests left him with no choice but to pursue neuro medicine, which he did during his residency in neurological surgery at the Health Center Hospitals at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During the Vietnam War, Dr. Camma served as Lieutenant of the United States Navy Medical Corps from 1969 until 1971. He was later licensed to practice medicine in the state of Pennsylvania and went on to act as chief resident of neurological surgery at Health Center Hospitals from 1974 until 1975. He became a diplomat of the American Board of Neurological Surgery in 1978 and subsequently began working with Genesis Health Care Systems at Good Samaritan Medical Center and Bethesda Hospital until 2018. Dr. Camma also acted on the consulting staff at Coshocton Memorial Hospital and Licking Memorial Hospital for several years. In 2018, he was brought onto the staff at Zanesville Surgery Center, where he has remained since.
Dr. Camma has been frequently recognized in his field for his achievements. In 1978, he was presented with the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal from the United States Navy. He was additionally inducted into Mensa International and Gamma Pi Delta in 1991 and 1992, respectively. Dr. Camma is an active participant in the medical community as well. He is affiliated with the American Medical Association, the Ohio Academy of Medical History, the Foundation for International Education in Neurological Surgery, and many more esteemed organizations. The highlight of his career has been being on the receiving end of gratitude and respect from his patients and colleagues. He greatly respects the honor and integrity of the medical profession. As a further testament to his success, Dr. Camma has been featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
