Donald Schwartz, MD, Founder of EyeSonix and Physician at Long Beach Eye Care Associates has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in ophthalmology.

With more than 35 years of professional experience, Dr. Schwartz has served as President of the California Academy of Ophthalmology and on the Board of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Ophthalmology. In addition to his primary roles, he is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Keck School of Medicine, the University of Southern California Roski Eye Institute. He is a section editor of “Textbook of Ophthalmology.” At EyeSonix, Dr. Schwartz has developed a revolutionary treatment for Glaucoma using ultrasound, which is currently in clinical trials.

Dr. Schwartz first began at the University of California, Berkeley, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1966. Subsequently, he received a Master of Science in optometry and a Doctor of Optometry in 1967. He then received a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California in 1968. In 1977 he received a Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. Dr. Schwartz is active with Eye Care America, which is a volunteer outreach program with the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
