Theodore Evans, President of South Florida International Orthopaedics, P.A., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in orthopaedic medicine.
What lead Dr. Evans into his career was discovering that a career in medicine would fulfill his desire to work somewhere that empowered his passion. Growing up, he watched his father who practiced as an excellent lawyer, but wasn’t passionate about his work. Instead, he was more interested in his community-service involvement. It made Dr. Evans realized that he needed to truly lean into his interests and passions to be happy in life and his career. He set out in his academic pursuits first at the Florida Institute of Technology and then at the University of Miami, earning an MD in 1984. In 1989, he became the vice president of a private practice and remained in this venture until 2010. Since 2011, he has utilized his skills and experience as the president of South Florida International Orthopedics, P.A.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Evans hopes to continue growing the practice. He feels the Miami market is very fragmented and large hospitals are hiring new doctors out of the residencies. He wants to unify orthopedic surgeons to not be subject to monopolies imposed by hospital corporations. Dr. Evans attributes his success to hard work, persistence, integrity, quality and not settling for second-best or a compromise. In this respect, he has received numerous Top Doctor accolades. In addition, he has served as the president of the International Wine & Food Society. In his daily work, he extends his expertise to helping patients through orthopedic surgery, including shoulder, knee, reconstructions, sports medicine, injuries and trauma.
