Lin Chang, Physician, Professor, Researcher and Health Care Administrator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in gastroenterology.

Dr. Chang began her career as an assistant professor of medicine at the Harbor-University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center, where she worked from 1993 to 1997. Upon her departure, she started as a professor of medicine in residence at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where she currently teaches, and in 2017, she started as vice-chief of the Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Division of Digestive Diseases. In 2018, Dr. Chang additionally accepted a new position as a clinical research councilor for the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Governing Board. She has conducted research on irritable bowel syndrome and contributed various articles to professional journals. For her excellence as a medical professional, Dr. Chang received a Janssen Award in gastroenterology, as well as several R01 Research Grants from the National Institutes of Health.

In preparation for her career, Dr. Chang attended UCLA and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in science and biochemistry in 1982. She continued her academic pursuits at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, earning an MD in 1986, and was licensed by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1987. Dr. Chang passed the gastroenterology board examination in 1993, renewing her certification in 2003 and 2014, and has maintained affiliations with numerous professional organizations. In 2005, she became a fellow of the AGA, she has been a member of the Functional Brain-Gut Research Group since 2004, and she served as the president of the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society from 2012 to 2014. Dr. Chang has found mentoring and training young medical professionals to be the most rewarding part of her career, and in the coming years, she plans to advance her research, and continue growing her division.
