Amin Nassar, Internal Medicine Resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in hepatology, oncology, and internal medicine.

Dr. Nassar attended the American University of Beirut and earned a Bachelor of Science in biology, with honorary distinction, in 2013. He began working as a curriculum coordinator, a position he held until 2015, and continued his academic pursuits, earning an MD in 2017 and receiving a nomination for a Penrose Award from the university. After being named to the dean’s list for the entirety of his higher education, Dr. Nassar accepted a position as a resident in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In addition to his residency, he began serving as a member of the hospital’s networking and mentoring committees and as the organizer for postdoctoral research fellows at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Postdoctoral Association. Since 2017, he has held the position of a postdoctoral fellow at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Originally, Dr. Nassar did not intend to come to the United States. When he spent three months in the U.S. as a part of his fourth year of medical school, he was encouraged and empowered by the kindness he encountered, and was able to land a position in oncology research at Harvard University. He has found it important to pursue further clinical training, and in 2018, Dr. Nassar received both a Certificate of Expertise in Hepatology and a Certificate of Expertise in Oncology. That same year, he began serving as an editorial board member and ad-hoc reviewer for Molecular Biology Reports, and became a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He feels lucky to have had a multitude of mentors and role models, and in the coming years, he plans to continue his work as a physician-scientist and hopes to have his own laboratory dedicated to bladder cancer research.
