Louise Warner, Physician, Researcher, Farmer and Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health and ecology.
Dr. Warner practiced as a physician and anesthesiologist from 1960 to 1996. During these years, she worked at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and spent her last decade at the institution as the Director of Clinical Anesthesia Research. She initially was not interested in the field of medicine, but after realizing during her undergraduate years that she had already taken most of the premed classes, she decided to further explore her interest in biosciences. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Ohio State University in 1951 and an MD from the institution in 1955. Dr. Warner is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology.
In addition to all the patients she has been able to help throughout the years, Dr. Warner considers her greatest achievement to be the Stratford Ecological Center. Dr. Warner’s late daughter Gale inspired her and her late husband, Dr. Jack Warner, to found the Ohio private nonprofit in Delaware, OH. This organization strives to educate children and adults in understanding the relationships between living things and their environment. This education helps foster an appreciation of the land and all the life dependent on it. Gale had worked at a similar location in California. Throughout her career, Dr. Warner maintained professional affiliation with the American Medical Association, the Ohio State Medical Association, the Pickaway Medical Society and the American Women’s Medical Association. She has also been civically-involved with the Pickaway County YMCA, the Innovative Farmers of Ohio, the Ohio Forage and Grasslands Council and the Friends of the Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio. She and her husband, Clyde Gosnell, recently implemented the construction of the John Glenn Astronomy Park in the Hocking Hills State Park.
