David Samuel Pearlman, MD, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in allergy treatment and immunology.
In the medical field, Dr. Pearlman is highly regarded for his work identifying allergy triggers and treating them. Additionally, he demonstrates an expertise in clinical research in immunology that has led him in achieving many accomplishments including a John C. Selner Lectureship Award from the Aspen Allergy Conference, a Distinguished Clinician Award from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, a Distinguished Service Award in Recognition of Outstanding Contributions to the Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters from the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and a Bret Ratner Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Pearlman has contributed more than 160 articles to medical journals and has co-edited multiple editions of the textbook “Allergy, Asthma and Immunology from Infancy to Adulthood.”
Dr. Pearlman entered his profession as a way to serve others. He earned a Doctor of Medicine in 1958 from Cornell University before pursuing postgraduate training at the University Hospitals of Cleveland, where he began as an intern in pediatrics and advanced to assistant resident by 1960. From there, he became a chief resident in pediatrics then a postdoctoral fellow in immunology at the University of Colorado Medical Center. Having quickly established his reputation of excellence in his field, Dr. Pearlman then succeeded as a special fellow in pharmacology at the National Institute for Medical Research in London, England from 1963 to 1964. In his career, Dr. Pearlman has held prominent roles due to his extensive experience and demonstrated skill set. He concluded his career as a principal investigator for the Colorado Allergy & Asthma Centers, where he found success for 47 years and is marked with having been a founding partner of the clinic. Prior to that, he was a professor of pediatrics, clinical professor of pediatrics and director of the pediatric allergy training program at the University of Colorado Medical School. Looking ahead, Dr. Pearlman intends to enjoy his retirement while taking on new passion projects in the digital space.
