Since 2007, Dr. Morris has contributed his expertise and services as a staff psychiatrist at Arizona State Hospital. He had garnered previous experience as a staff psychiatrist with Comcare/ABS/Value Options, with the Maricopa Medical Center, the Institute of Living and the Edward W. Sparrow Hospital, as well as in private practice. One of the key areas Dr. Morris has always been passionate about as a clinical is education and he hopes his work has been influential to others in this respect. The highlight of Dr. Morris’ career that stood out the most was during his work at the private practice. Not only was it the most demanding experience, but it was also the most rewarding because of how appreciative his patients were.

Knowing the importance of education, Dr. Morris first earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1970 and then an MD in 1973 from Indiana University. It was during his collegiate studies that he realized he wanted to work in psychiatry because of the outstanding professors who taught him during medical school. He became a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1986. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Morris diagnoses and treats mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety disorder.

In his career, Dr. Morris has maintained professional affiliation with the Phoenix Psychiatric Society and the American Psychiatric Association. He has previously served as the president of the Arizona Psychiatric Society. In addition, Dr. Morris has taught in the residency program. Furthermore, Dr. Morris has been included in Who’s who in American, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and Who’s Who in the World. Outside of work, he enjoys scuba diving, weightlifting, jet skiing and traveling.
