Maria Carmelita Go, MD, Doctor at Presbyterian Medical Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in geriatric medicine.
Drawing upon more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Go is a compassionate and enthusiastic physician whose expertise is in geriatric medicine, internal medicine and family medicine. Being fascinated with medicine from a formative age, she cites passing the United States medical exam to have been among the most challenging aspects of her career. However, it was also the most rewarding, as obtaining medical training in the United States is seen as the golden standard. Having obtained her medical degree and received medical training and licensing, she subsequently served as a physician at Johns Hopkins Medical Center for five years prior to delving into her current role as a physician at Presbyterian Medical Services in Roswell, NM.
Although she views her work as a medical professional to be challenging, Dr. Go has become inspired by her experiences working with geriatric patients, who often are forced to face the prospect of their own mortality. Drawing upon this influence, she has conjured the notion that an individual must do the most of what they can with the time they are given on this earth. Attributing her success to the support from her family, she also credits her own self-determination and motivation to be the best at her job.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Go has continuously learned about the fundamentals of medicine, especially in light of the shifting nature of medical paradigms and revolutionary discoveries that are being made on a regular basis. During her tenure in health care, she has learned to value the remarkable experiences she has witnessed, including her interactions with both patients and colleagues. Her time spent as a doctor has truly propelled her to evolve and mature as an individual, making it easier for her to treat patients with a number of afflictions.
Above all else, Dr. Go wishes to be remembered as a humble person, and has always gone above and beyond in order to help other people. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, listening to soft music and spending time with her family. Looking toward the future, she intends on remaining at Presbyterian Medical Services and obtaining another position in the senior leadership team.
