Dr. Pasik became involved in his profession because of a high school biology teacher, Charles Taylor, who encouraged him to pursue a career in the medical field. In addition, Dr. Pasik received support from community members of his faith. With these motivations in his life, Dr. Pasik has been practicing medicine for more than four decades and still feels passionate about his work at the end of the day knowing he has been able to help patients. Dr. Pasik opened the doors to his private practice in 1978 and endeavors to continue practicing medicine with his specializations in allergies for many years to come. His practice is affiliated with the Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak health care system in West Bloomfield, Michigan. He is one of 12 doctors in this system that specializes in allergy and immunology.
With the inspiration from his teacher and community members, Dr. Pasik first earned a Bachelor of Arts from Harpur College at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton in 1966. He continued his medical training at the Downstate Medical Center, where he earned an MD in 1970. Following this, he completed his specialty training at Montefiore Hospital and Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Pasik then served in the United States Navy at the Bethesda Naval Hospital and was an advisor to the Surgeon General of the Navy. While at the hospital, Dr. Pasik was also co-director of the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, the American Board of Pediatrics and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Besides being able to help so many people with their medical needs, one of Dr. Pasik’s career highlights has been being selected as the president of the Michigan Allergies Society. He served as president of this society from 1989 to 1990 and previously held the roles of secretary and treasurer of the organization. Furthermore, Dr. Pasik was the director of the Allergy Clinic at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital from 1978 to 1985. Dr. Pasik is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, the Michigan Allergy Society , and the Michigan Chapter of the Allergy & Asthma Foundation.
