Jose Guadalupe Vega, Ph.D., Neuropsychologist at the Colorado Mental Health Institute, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in neuropsychology.
A board certified neuropsychologist, Dr. Vega concurrently works part-time in private practice in Pueblo, CO, and as a neuropsychologist at the Colorado Mental Health Institute, a position he has held since 2002. Believing that his ascension into psychology was a natural progression from his formative years to adulthood, he formerly served the Colorado Department of Corrections and Parkview Psychological Services as a psychologist, having previously been the co-owner of Affiliates in Counseling, Psychological Assessment & Consultants, Inc. Earlier in his career, he served as a psychologist for Spanish Peaks Mental Health Center and as a member of the Maytag-Emrick Clinic and Oasis of Chandala beginning in 1978. When asked of his career highlights, he cites working full-time at the state hospital was a crowning moment, as he had the opportunity to witness doctoral students complete their programs and evolve into wonderful medical practitioners.
Dr. Vega holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in counseling from the University of Denver. A licensed psychologist in Colorado, he is also a certified professional counselor in Texas and a diplomate of the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists, the American Board of Vocational Experts, the American Board of Professional Disability Consultants, the American Board of Forensic Examiners and the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology.
