He was also the former president of his local chapter of the Rotary Club and on the maternal welfare committee of the Illinois State Medical Society. As a testament to his professional success, Dr. Simmons was the recipient of the Gem of Hills Award by the South Lake Chamber of Commerce in 2005. He has notably been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.
