Daniel J. Kelly, MD, Retired Consolidated Pathology Consultant at the Service Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the health care industry.

Drawing upon more than 40 years of experience, Dr. Kelly is a distinguished health care professional who most recently served as a consolidated pathology consultant at the Service Corporation in Lake Bluff, IL, from 1999 to 2007. Prior to this appointment, he was involved with Associated Laboratory Physician Services in Wauwatosa, WI, from 1997 to 1999, director of the laboratory at Highland Park Hospital from 1996 to 1997, chief of staff at Highland Park Hospital from 1994 to 1996, and on the board of directors at Highland Park Hospital from 1992 to 1996. Serving Highland Park Hospital in myriad other roles, including chief of staff-elect, director of the laboratory and co-director of the laboratory, Dr. Kelly also acted in multiple roles with Lake Forest Hospital, such as director of the laboratory and co-director of the laboratory. He commenced his career as the assistant chief of the laboratory at Naval Hospital in 1971, serving in this role for two years.

To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Kelly pursued a formal education at Yale University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1962. He subsequently attended Jefferson Medical College, receiving a Doctor of Medicine in 1966. Thereafter, he completed an internship and residency at the Naval Hospital in Boston, MA, and Oakland, CA, between 1966 and 1971. He is a diplomate in anatomic and clinical pathology, nuclear medicine and dermatopathology, which he considers to be a crowning achievement. While pursuing his internship and residency, he served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, advancing to the rank of commander between 1962 and 1977.

A member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the International Academy of Pathologists, the American Medical Association and the Illinois Society of Pathologists, Dr. Kelly has accrued several accolades throughout his career. The recipient of a Navy Commendation Medal in 1976, he has been listed in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the Midwest, and Who’s Who in the World.
