Backed by more than five decades of professional experience, Dr. Walk is an esteemed family physician who has been serving in private practices across Iowa, Illinois, Missouri and Nebraska since 1997, having formerly hosted a solo practice family clinic in Silvis, IL, from 1975 to 1996. Commencing his career in the medical department of the United States Army from 1967 to 1975, he completed a residency in family medicine at the William Beaumont Medical Center in El Paso, TX, from 1970 to 1973.

Alongside his primary endeavors, Dr. Walk was employed with the Health Care Clinic from 2001 to 2015 and served on the board of directors of Illini Hospital in Silvis from 1986 to 1989. He previously spent time as a brigadier general in the special forces of the United States Army from 1969 to 1970, having also spent time in Vietnam and previously in Germany in the 1950s.

To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Walk pursued formal education at Drake University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in 1953 and 1958, respectively. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Coll Medical and Surgery in Des Moines, IA, in 1966. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.

To remain aware of recent developments within the medical industry, Dr. Walk has maintained affiliation with several organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, and Sigma Phi Epsilon. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to the industry, he was named one of America’s Top Family Doctors by the American Consumer Research Council in 2004 and 2005.
