Ali Zaidi, Director of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program at Montefiore Medical Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of cardiology.
Passionate about caring for others and determined to improve the field of cardiology on a national level, Dr. Zaidi appreciates the challenges the fascinating field offers. Currently, he holds numerous positions with The Montefiore Einstein Center for Heart and Vascular Care and The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore for The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. He serves as an associate professor internal medicine and pediatrics, director of both the Montefiore adult congenital heart disease program and the Montefiore Einstein pulmonary hypertension program. Dr. Zaidi believes his training sets him apart from others in the field of cardiology as he is trained in both internal medicine as well as pediatric cardiology, a feat few other cardiologists in the nation have undertaken. He chose to study cardiology during a medical residency, finding it tragic that young children had grown up with heart conditions that few doctors were able to treat. Dr. Zaidi recognizes the need for increased awareness of adult congenial cardiology, writing “Color Atlas and Synopsis of Adult Congenital Heart Disease” as well as contributing articles to professional journals and chapters to books on the subject of cardiology.
In recognition of his invaluable contributions to the field of cardiology, Dr. Zaidi has been lauded with numerous awards from noteworthy organizations, including the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award for Adult Cardiovascular Disease from the Montefiore Medical Center for The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Actelion Fellowship Award for Adult Congenital Heart Disease Training from the Adult Congenial Heart Association. He has also been presented with the Charles A. Bush Award for Excellence in Cardiovascular Research from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and The Hugh D. Allen Excellence in Teaching Award for Pediatric Cardiology as well as The Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship from The Heart Center of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He holds membership with multiple organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the Adult Congenital Heart Association, the International Society of Adult Congenital Heart Disease and the American Society of Echocardiography. In the future, Dr. Zaidi plans on developing and training cardiologists to enter the field of cardiology, hoping to work with international groups and possibly other parts of the world in order to help further the field of cardiology in areas that need development.
