Furthermore, Dr. Kipshidze has served as a grant reviewer for the International Mentoring Program of the American Heart Association since 2006 as well as a member and reviewer for the National Science Foundation since 2009.

Dr. Kipshidze’s major interests include cardiovascular research, patient care and education in the broad subspecialty of interventional medicine. He has been involved in all aspects of biomedical research including, but not limited to, device prototyping, experimental physiology, molecular biology, pre-clinical animal studies, pharmacology, biomaterials and the development and management of clinical trials. He and a team of other accomplished doctors have developed the first vaccine for the Coxsackievirus virus, a highly contagious entity that can cause hand, foot and mouth disease. His extensive research has led to the pioneering of several techniques to treat cardiovascular diseases as well as his authorship of over 200 manuscripts, 400 abstracts and over three dozen U.S. and international patents. Dr. Kipshidze is a member of numerous organizations, holding fellowships with the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. Due to his noteworthy accomplishments and influence, he has been recognized in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
