Following his father’s footsteps into cardiology, Dr. Philip Nimoityn has dedicated over 40 years to the practice and teaching of medicine. Since 1981, he has been with Thomas Jefferson University. In that time, he has served as clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College, attending physician at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, and has been chairman of numerous committees. He has also been a physician with Cardiovascular Medical Associates, P.C. since 1981, and serves as president of the organization.
Dr. Nimoityn began on his career path in 1972, when he graduated with distinction from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then continued his education at the University where he would spend his entire career to date, the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He received an MD from there 1976, and then completed an internship in internal medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital. He returned to Thomas Jefferson University in 1977, where he completed both a residency in internal medicine, and a fellowship in cardiology.
Dr. Nimoityn is a respected authority in the field of cardiology. He is a diplomate in cardiovascular disease with the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He has written a number of articles for professional journals, and has co-authored several other written works in the field, including “Cardiac Emergency Care,” “Quick Reference to Cardiovascular Disease,” and “Artificial Cardiac Pacing.” Dr. Nimoityn has been featured in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and Lifetime Achievers.
