A respected and accomplished health care professional, Dr. Boran has amassed four decades of experience in his areas of expertise. Working out of a private practice in Pottsville, PA, since 1983, he formerly served as a chief resident at the Nemours Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children 1981 and the United States VA Hospital in 1980. Prior to these appointments, he was a resident in orthopedic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals from 1979 to 1982, an intern at Pennsylvania Hospital from 1978 to 1978, and a laboratory technician at Pottsville Hospital from 1972 to 1974. In addition, he held the role of clinical adjunct faculty member at King’s College for a brief period of time.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Boran pursued a formal education at Saint Joseph’s University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in biology, cum laude, in 1974. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in 1978. He has since become a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Alongside his professional endeavors, Dr. Boran was chairman of the board of directors for the Schuylkill Rehabilitation Center between 1988 and 2002. In an effort to remain aware of changes within the industry, he maintains affiliation with several organizations, including as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the International College of Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
