The recipient of the Excellent Teacher Award from Pennsylvania State University in 2015, he won the Innovation Award from Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in 2013 and the Exceptional Teacher Award from Penn State College of Medicine in 2009 and 2012. In 2011, he was honored with the Excellent Role Model Award from Penn State College of Medicine. Notably, he has been a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine since 2017 and the American College of Sports Medicine since 2013.
