Karen J. Miller, MD, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician at Tufts Medical Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in developmental-behavioral pediatrics.
A celebrated figure in her field, Dr. Miller is a developmental-behavioral pediatrician and director at the Center for Children with Special Needs at the Floating Hospital for Children. Alongside this venture, she is also the program director for the developmental-behavioral pediatrics fellowship and a clinical professor of pediatrics at the School of Medicine at Tufts University. In these positions, she specializes in developmental disorders in children, including attention deficit disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and various learning disabilities.
To prepare for her illustrious career, Dr. Miller sought an education at the School of Medicine at Tulane University, earning a Doctor of Medicine in 1977. She subsequently obtained additional medical training at the Georgetown University Medical Center and Schneider Children’s Hospital. She is board certified in pediatrics and developmental-behavioral pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Alongside her primary endeavors, Dr. Miller cofounded the Boston Autism Consortium, a collaboration between Boston academic institutions and research facilities with the ultimate goal of diagnosing and treating autism spectrum disorder with a particular focus on genetics, family support, and clinical care. In recognition of her exceptional accomplishments in health care, Dr. Miller has been named a Top Doctor in Boston Magazine in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017. She was also elected a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Notably, she was named a Top Doctor and in the top one percent in the nation in her specialty by U.S. News & World Report in 2012.
