Flemming Wollesen, MD, FACP, CEO and Endocrinologist at EndoCons, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in endocrinology.
A renowned figure in the field of endocrinology, Dr. Wollesen has amassed nearly 50 years of professional excellence in his areas of expertise. The CEO, endocrinologist, and senior consultant of Endocons since 1998, he has also been a specialist in endocrinology in Stockholm, Sweden, since 2004. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Wollesen was a personal physician to the president of the United Arab Emirates from 2000 to 2004, an assistant professor of endocrinology at Uppsala University Hospital from 1992 to 1999, an associate professor of endocrinology at Kalmar County Hospital from 1986 to 1991, and an assistant professor of endocrinology at Copenhagen University Hospital from 1976 to 1986. He commenced his career as an assistant professor of endocrinology in the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University from 1973 to 1975.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Wollesen earned a Doctor of Medicine from Copenhagen University Medical School in 1963, followed by an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University Hospital of Copenhagen from 1963 to 1968. Soon thereafter, he completed a research fellowship in endocrinology at Copenhagen County Hospital and became a senior researcher for the Danish Government Medical Research Council from 1969 to 1970. From 1971 to 1973, he was the chief resident of endocrinology at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical School. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he is licensed to practice in Denmark and Sweden, as well as in the state of New York.
In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments, Dr. Wollesen was elected a fellow of the American College of Physicians. In addition, he has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in the World. The proud father of four sons, he enjoys skiing and doing outdoor activities in his spare time.
