To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Mahajan pursued a formal education, first earning a Doctor of Medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College (University of Delhi) in New Delhi, India, in 2001. Relocating to the United States soon thereafter, he received a Master of Public Health from the School of Public Health at the University of Texas in 2003 and completed a residency at the Maimonides Medical Center with Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY until 2006. Subsequently, he earned an additional medical degree through the Maimonides Medical Center later that year. He did his General Cardiology fellowship at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI followed by Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Michigan State University, MI. He is board certified in Interventional Cardiology, General Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, CTA and RPVI.
Dr. Mahajan is a diplomate in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine. Alongside his primary endeavors, he has been a prolific author, contributing several articles to professional journals and serving as a reviewer for the Archives of Internal Medicine, CHEST, and the International Journal of Cardiology. He has authored manuscripts in several peer reviewed journals, and has presented his findings at both national and international conferences. He maintains affiliation with several industry-related organizations, including the Michigan State Medical Society, the American College of Physicians, and the American Board of Internal Medicine.
In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments in his field, Dr. Mahajan was honored with the Maimonides Research Grant by the Institutional Board of Higher Education with Maimonides Medical Center in 2005 and 2006. In addition, he was elected a fellow of the Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions in 2014. Highlighted in the 63rd edition of Who’s Who in America, Dr. Mahajan plans on increasing awareness on cardiovascular diseases in the future, his ultimate goal is to diminish the mortality and morbidity rates associated with cardiac illnesses.
