Chul Soo Kwon, Psychiatrist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in behavioral science and mental health.
Dr. Kwon has more than 30 years of practice in the field of psychiatry, working in private practices, hospital programs, and learning institutions. His most recent role has been as a physician at the Howard County General Hospital at John Hopkins Medicine, a position which he took on in 2011. Since 1993, he has also served as a psychiatric consultant and management member of the EHP Group Practice, and since 1991, Dr. Kwon has served as the Medical Director of the Psychiatric Hospitalization Program at Union Memorial Hospital and as a physician at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Throughout his career, Dr. Kwon has taught psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University, and worked for such institutions as the Homewood Hospital Center, Taylor Manor, Harbor Hospital (MedStar Health Systems), Sheppard-Enoch Pratt Hospital, and Good Samaritan Hospital.
In preparation to go into the field of medicine, Dr. Kwon first earned an MD from Seoul National University in 1974. He continued his medical education with an internship at the Washington Hospital Center followed by a residency in general surgery. He then completed a residency in psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital, as well as a fellowship in behavioral science. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. and the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology. In addition, Dr. Kwon is board certified in psychiatry by the Psychosomatic Medicine and Geriatric Psychiatry. He maintains affiliation with such organizations as the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, the American Neuropsychiatric Association, and the American Medical Association.
