Patrick S. McNulty, Spine Surgeon at the Nevada Orthopedic and Spine Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in spinal surgery.
Although Dr. McNulty originally wanted to be a neurosurgeon, he felt drawn to spinal surgery in medical school. He proceeded to graduate with an MD, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1988, and become board certified by the American Board of Spine Surgery and the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He completed an internship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, a residency in orthopedic surgery at Texas Southwestern Medical Center through Texas Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, and a fellowship at the Scoliosis and Spine Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital to round out his academic training.
In 1994, Dr. McNulty joined the U.S. Navy as the head of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. His military background made the position a natural fit. Although he loved having the opportunity to perform surgeries all over the world, however, Dr. McNulty decided to settle down and join Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center in 1997. It was there that he really found his niche. His practice includes the comprehensive spectrum of spinal disorders with a special interest in complex spinal reconstruction and scoliosis. He prides himself on keeping current with new and innovative techniques while maintaining the perspective of traditional time-tested methods. He is also committed to maximizing reasonable conservative therapy before implementing surgical options.
Dr. McNulty’s success led him to develop a strong reputation amongst his peers. He has maintained affiliation with the American Board of Spine Surgery, the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, the North American Spine Society, and the Scoliosis Research Society. He has also been honored with a number of accolades, including the Top 1 Percent Board Certification from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery in 2015. He attributes his achievements to always bring his A-game and diligence to the table.
When Dr. McNulty isn’t working, he enjoys skiing, snowboarding, golf, and scuba diving.
