Robert F. Hawke, Dentist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in dentistry.
Passionate and driven, Dr. Hawke is proud to be living out his childhood dream of becoming a dentist. He has a lot of family in health care who have encouraged his path, which started at the University of Arizona. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the school in 1969, and continued on to earn a DDS from Baylor University in 1973. Degrees in hand, Dr. Hawke rapidly progressed through the field, becoming an associate at B.J. Barber in 1976 and a partner with Barber-Hawke, Professional Corporation, two years later. In 1987, he opened his own private practice, and he’s been there ever since. He really appreciates the control he has over the business, and loves the work so much that he says he never wants to retire.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hawke is very active in his community. He is currently a member of the Tucson Business Alliance, the American College of Dentists the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Tucson Advanced Cosmetic & Restorative Study Club, and the World Clinical Laser Institute. Previously, he held a variety of roles with the American Dental Association, including delegate, alternate delegate, and 14th District Chair of the Political Action Committee, and with the Arizona State Dental Association, including trustee, vice president, president-elect, president, member of the legal liaison committee, and chair of the Council on Constitution and Bylaws, the Council on Budget Planning, and the Council on Insurance. Other notable roles include major in the U.S. Army, president and member of the board of directors for the Southern Arizona Dental Society, president and member of the board of directors for Delta Dental of Arizona, Southern Arizona chair of the Give Kids a Smile Day, and member of the Care Doctor Cerec Club of Tucson, the Community Autoimmune Deficiency Syndrome Advisory Council, and the Autoimmune Deficiency Syndrome Education Project.
In recognition of his efforts, Dr. Hawke received a Service Award from the Arizona State Dental Association in 2002 and the Pierre Fauchard Award in 1989. His achievements have been highlighted in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the West, and Who’s Who in the World.
In his free time, Dr. Hawke enjoys golf, jogging, racquetball, and reading.
