Sidney M. Glazer, MD, Physician, Partner Emeritus at Southern California Permanente Medical Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in general surgery and medicine.
Dr. Glazer has been partner emeritus of Kaiser Permanente, Southern California Permanente Medical Group since 2007, having served as a lead physician with the Hemodialysis Access CQI Committee since 1997, and a partner physician in vascular surgery with the group since 1982. Dr. Glazer has been a volunteer staff surgeon at Douglas Hospital of UC Irvine Health and a staff surgeon at Antelope Valley Hospital and Palmdale Regional Medical Center since 2010. In 2008, he took the position of Per Diem Staff Vascular Surgeon with Kaiser Permanente, Southern California Permanente Medical Group. In addition to these roles, Dr. Glazer has been a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of California, Irvine since 2006.
Dr. Glazer was set on his path to medicine at an early age, first receiving a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley in 1970. He continued his studies at Loyola University, earning a Doctor of Medicine in 1974. Following this, he completed an internship in straight surgery at the LAC+USC Medical Center and then a residency in general surgery at the Good Samaritan Hospital. From 1976 to 1980, he served as a resident in general surgery at Kaiser Permanente, Southern California Permanente Medical Group, next completing a fellowship in peripheral vascular surgery at St. Mary Medical Center in 1981. Dr. Glazer became a diplomate of the Medical Board of California in 1975, and he is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
As a dedicated medical professional, Dr. Glazer served as the president of the Orange County Surgical Society. He has also maintained professional affiliation with the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Southern California Vascular Surgical Society, the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, the Vascular Access Society of the Americas, and the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology. Furthermore, Dr, Glazer is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
