Dr. Fabbri became involved in his profession to make a difference in the lives of patients, especially those afflicted with cancer. Since 2012, he has worked at Weill Cornell Medicine at Cornell University as a professor of surgery and as an attending orthopedic surgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Since 1997, Dr. Fabbri has been an associate professor of orthopedic and musculoskeletal pathology at Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute – Hospital Rizzoli. Earlier in his career, Dr. Fabbri taught at the Mayo Clinic. He also served as a Joe Miller Visiting Professor at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGill University in 2008.

Dr. Fabbri earned an MD in medicine and surgery at the University of Bologna in 1988, summa cum laude. He completed a residency fellowship at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education at Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute – Hospital Rizzoli. He is a member of the International Society of Limb Salvage, the Connective Tissue Oncology Society, E.M.S.O.S., the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, and the Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology.

In recognition of his work, Dr. Fabbri received the Mark B. Coventry Adult Reconstruction Fellowship from the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in 1996. He also received a scholarship from the Italian Ministry of Public Education during his studies. In the coming years, Dr. Fabbri endeavors to continue his work in making cancer beatable and helping patients.
