Andrea Mariani, MD, MS, Surgeon at Mayo Clinic, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Oncology.
Dr. Mariani has been a gynecologic oncology surgeon of the prestigious Mayo Clinic since 2008, and a consultant with its department of obstetrics and gynecology. He is a prolific contributor to medical journals, with over 150 peer reviewed publications to his name. Dr. Mariani is also a hard-working member of the medical community, and currently a committee member with the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Clinical Competency Committee, advisory member of the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance, and panel member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. He has served as surgery chair of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center Practice Committee since 2014, and holds other roles in a variety of disciplines within the institution.
A graduate of the Universita degli Studi di Milano, Dr. Mariani has substantial medical training, beginning with his training in obstetrics and gynecology with the San Raffaele Hospital affiliated with the Universita di Milano. He later served a research fellowship with the obstetrics & gynecology fellowship program of the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. In 2005, Dr. Mariani accrued a MS in gynecologic oncology from the Mayo Clinic, and further graduated from the gynecologic oncology fellowship program of the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education, earning a MD in 2005 from the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.
Dr. Mariani is an honorary doctor of gynecologic oncology with the University of Utrecht, and received a 2006 J.G. Moore Award from the Western Association of Gynecologic Oncologists Meeting in Lake Tahoe, CA. He became a member of the medical advisory committee of the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance in 2016, and is an editorial board member of the Turkish Journal of Gynecologic Oncology, the European Journal of Surgical Oncology, as well as a member of numerous medical groups, notably the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
