Harold A. Harvey, MD, Physician at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Oncology.
A specialist in breast cancer and neuro-endocrine tumors, Dr. Harvey has maintained his signature empathy, knowledge, compassion, and priority for patient welfare since becoming a physician in 1969. He has been a professor with Penn State since 1986, and is a board member of the American Cancer Society in Harrisburg, PA, as well as a former board member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology from 1976 to 2009.
Dr. Harvey earned a MBBS from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica in 1969, and trained as an intern with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados. In 1970, he became a resident in internal medicine with the Lemuell Shattuck & Faulkner Hospital in Boston, and in 1972 he entered a fellowship in medical oncology with the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Harvey became a diplomate in medical oncology with the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1973, and served as an assistant professor of medicine at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine from 1974 to 1980. He was appointed a full professor in 1986, and continues to teach there.
Over a productive medical career, Dr. Harvey has contributed to medical literature with numerous professional journals. He is a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert and a recipient of both the Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award and the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Harvey has appeared in four volumes of Who’s Who in America. He is also the proud father of William F. and Allison M. with his wife, Mary L. Goodfellow.
