Miriam Ting, Periodontist at Think Dental Learning Institute, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Dentistry.
Dr. Ting became the Director of the Think Dental Learning Institute in 2017, simultaneously starting a private periodontal practice at Think Oral Implants and Periodontics. She has taught for many years in various dental schools, serving most recently with the Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry from 2013 to 2014.
An alumna of the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Ting earned a BDS and went on to work in various government affiliated dental institutions including the National Dental Center, the School Dental Service, and the Dental Health Education Unit. In 1995, she was appointed the acting Head of the Dental Health Education Unit at the Ministry of Health, Singapore. Dr. Ting was a dental adviser with the 1995 Bukit Gombat Health Fair in Singapore. She then went to the University of Southern California to earn a MS in craniofacial biology, and a certificate in Advanced Periodontology. She returned to Singapore for private practice with Ko Djeng and Associates at Mount Elizabeth Hospital from 2000 to 2002. She recently earned a DMD, magna cum laude, from Temple University in 2017. She also received a 2017 Outstanding Dental Student in Implant Dentistry Award from the Academy of Osseointegration, and the 2017 Edward B. and Arnold R. Cook Prize in Dentistry.
In addition to her recent awards, Dr. Ting won second place with the 2016 ICOI Summer Implant Poster Competition, and third place in 2015 competition. Early in her career, she won a 1991 Young Researcher’s Award, and first place with the 1991 Project Competition of the Asia Pacific Dental Students Association. Since then, she has contributed to numerous societies, and was President of both the Systematic Review Honor Society and the Periodontal Honor Society at the Kornberg School of Dentistry from 2016 to 2017. Dr. Ting is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Periodontology, a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Fellow of the International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics, and an internationally accomplished periodontist.
