Roselia I. Labbe, MD, FACS, Medical Branch Chief for the Air Reserves Component Case Management Divison for the U.S. Air Force, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medicine.

Dr. Labbe is dedicated to the care of members of the U.S. Air Force, who are in turn dedicated to protecting the American people.

Roselia I. Labbe, MD, FACS was selected for the Medical Branch Chief for the Air Reserves Component Case Management position for the Air Force’s Personnel Center in San Antonio, TX. In this role, Dr. Labbe ensures medical conditions and medical treatments for Air Force personnel and reservists who have been injured while on orders are taken care of appropriately according to the Air Force’s provisions. She has served in this role for more than two years. Dr. Labbe’s department determines whether or not the Air Force personnel are eligible to continue orders after receiving an injury or illness while on duty, which would enable them to receive full medical benefits. In addition to this position, Dr. Labbe works at an Air Force outpatient surgery facility.

An alumna of the Air University with the Air Force in Montgomery, Alabama, Dr. Labbe became involved in her profession after joining the U.S. Air Force in order to receive an education. She studied electronics, followed by a bachelor’s degree in biology from Midwestern State University, and became a doctor at Wright State University, and attributes her ongoing success to doors opening at the right time, staying aware of opportunities, and never being afraid to take risks. Dr. Labbe has been practicing medicine for 30 years. she has previously worked at Randall’s Air Force Base, and as a general surgeon with the Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgery Center at Lackland Air Force Base.

Within the next five years, Dr. Labbe intends to retire and establish a nonprofit in South American countries to strengthen medical services in those regions. Dr. Labbe is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Air Force Clinical Surgeons. While training medical professionals while the Deputy Branch Chief for the Physician Education Division, the physicians she oversaw in her programs became certified to care for active duty troops as well as dependents and retired members of the military. Prior to her current roles, Dr. Labbe served as associate faculty with the Family Practice Residency in Eglin and with the surgery residents at the Kessler Air Force Base.
