Falah El-Haddawi, FRCS, FRACS, Surgeon at Taranaki Base Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Medicine.
Dr. El-Haddawi is an expert in breast, endocrine, and general surgery currently serving as an advanced surgical registrar with Taranaki Base Hospital, where he has worked for the past 11 years, as well as a consultant in relevant fields of medicine. He cut his teeth as a military doctor with the Iraqi Army from 1986 to 1989 and traveled to Oceania in the late ‘90s. Dr. El-Haddawi is a registered surgeon in both New Zealand and Australia, and holds two honorary clinical lecturer positions with the University of Auckland and the University of Otago. He is also a prolific contributor to the medical field as an author of scientific articles and presentations, as well as the recipient of a 2006 Obex Prize and a 2002 G.B. Ong Gold Medal from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Born to Hassan El-Haddawi and Bahia Al Fadel in Baghdad, Iraq, Dr. El-Haddawi trained with the University of Baghdad and completed his primary training and surgical fellowship in Iraq. He worked as a surgeon with Nasseria Hospital, Al Mustansiriya Hospital, and Medical City in Baghdad before traveling to join Capital Coast Health in Wellington, New Zealand. Since then, he has earned the distinction of fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and the Iraqi Commission for Medical Specializations, in addition to supporting numerous medical groups. Dr. El-Haddawi is also the proud father of Dania with his wife Zeina Osseiran. He is recognized as a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert, and was featured in the 5th edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
