Dr. David Donaldson, Consultant in Chemical Pathology, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in chemical pathology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Donaldson has performed and been responsible for life-saving medical services, instructed medical students, lead programs and written/contributed to many publications. For nearly fifty years his work has impacted on the lives of many. Prior to retirement he worked for 31 years as a consultant chemical pathologist. From 1984 to 2006 Dr. Donaldson provided his knowledge as a consultant in chemical pathology for BUPA Gatwick Park Hospital [Spire Healthcare Group plc]. From 1970-2001 he served as consultant chemical pathologist for Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and had also been Director of Pathology at that organisation. Earlier in his career he was a house physician at Selly Oak Hospital [Birmingham], assistant resident medical officer for the General Infirmary at Leeds, and registrar in general medicine at Keighley Victoria Hospital [Yorkshire]. On top of these roles, Dr. Donaldson shared his knowledge of medicine with prospective health workers as a lecturer in clinical biochemistry at London South Bank University.
Set on his path at an early age Dr. Donaldson earned a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery at the University of Birmingham in 1959. His work has been recognised with numerous accolades, including the Mori Felicitation Award from the International College of Nutrition in 2002. Throughout his career, he has maintained affiliation with a number of organizations to continue his professional development. These organizations include the Medical Society of London, the Royal Society of Medicine, the Royal Society of Public Health, the New York Academy of Sciences and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Dr. Donaldson has contributed to numerous works and authored many publications. He has been an editorial board member of the “Journal Royal Society for the Promotion of Health”, and was author of “Psychiatric Disorders with a Biochemical Basis”. He also provided has writing skills as Co-author of “Diagnostic Function Tests in Chemical Pathology”, and “Essential Diagnostic Tests in Biochemistry and Haematology”.
